The Xendat Maturity Framework

Six levels. One consistent scale across all capabilities.

Maturity is assessed capability by capability. An organization may be highly mature in architecture while still developing its metadata, governance, semantic, or AI capabilities. The model helps reveal those differences and create a more realistic roadmap.

A higher level is not automatically better. The appropriate target depends on business value, regulatory needs, risk, scale, and the role of the capability in the organization.

Is the maturity model only for data management?
No. The framework can be applied to enterprise data, analytics, knowledge, governance, architecture, FAIR data, semantics, AI readiness, and other organizational capabilities.
Must every capability reach level 5?
No. Target maturity should reflect business value, risk, regulatory requirements, scale, and strategic importance.
Can Xendat assess one capability rather than the whole enterprise?
Yes. An assessment can focus on a specific area, domain, function, program, or enterprise-wide portfolio.
Does an assessment require AptitudeIQ?
Not always. AptitudeIQ is valuable when a structured, repeatable, multi-stakeholder assessment is appropriate. Xendat can also provide targeted advisory discovery and workshops.
